The dump — closed and covered over with soil in 1980 — is slowly becoming exposed due to coastal erosion.
And the five metres high and 100 metres long phalanx of discarded ironwork, crumbling rubble and plastic bags looks more like recently dumped rubbish than a legacy to former generations.
